Sam Choo attends the National Technology Leadership Summit as president-elect of ISET-CEC
Dr. Sam Choo, assistant professor in the Department of Educational Psychology's special education program, attended the National Technology Leadership Summit (NTLS) September 19-20 in Washington, D.C. as president-elect of Innovations in Special Education Technology (ISET) . The summit brought together national leaders from educational associations, editors of educational technology journals, directors of non-profit foundations, federal policymakers, and corporate representatives. With a mission to accelerate the impact of digital technologies in education, the NTLS facilitates collaboration and drives innovation in the field.
ISET is a division of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), for which Dr. Choo has hosted an event in the past. It aims to improve outcomes for all learners by promoting the use of instructional and assistive technologies through design, implementation, research, and advocacy.
During the summit, Dr. Choo was assigned the "AI+Special Education" workgroup, collaborating with experts to draft recommendations for advancing the use of AI in special education. These recommendations will be published in a range of educational technology journals and featured in educational conference programs. Such efforts ensure that AI technologies can be meaningfully integrated into the 21st-century classroom.
