Sam Choo, Kristen McMaster, and doctoral students

Sam Choo, assistant professor in the Department of Educational Psychology's special education program, hosted several events at the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) 2024 Special Education Convention & Expo in San Antonio in March. Choo hosted as president-elect of the CEC's technology division; he is also the associate editor of the Learning Disability Quarterly (LDQ) journal.

Along with Kristen McMaster, Guy Bond Chair in Reading in the special education program, Choo and several doctoral students (Jechun An, Emily Reno, and Seohyeon Choi) co-presented the Innovations in Special Education Technology (ISET) Educational Technology (EdTech) Research and Development (R&D) showcase.

They presented the Inference Galaxy for reading and NumberShire for mathematics (a game that Choo has represented before). The research groups shared their process for developing and validating educational technology products and provided evidence-based tools and resources available for teachers and families.
