U of M's IGDILab chosen as a finalist in the Instructional Coaching for Early Childhood Education Track 2023-24 Tools Competition

The IGDILab was chosen as one of the 9 finalists in the Instructional Coaching for Early Childhood Education Track 2023-24 Tools Competition. The IGDILab's application proposes to develop AI-BRIDGE: Advancing Instruction through Bilingual Recommendations for Inclusive Data-driven Guidance for Equity in Early Childhood Education and is up for an award at the Tools Competition's Growth Award Level for $150,000.  Winners will be announced in summer 2024.

AI-BRIDGE will provide early educators working with multilingual learners with personalized instructional guidance based on children's linguistic profiles, their English and Spanish language and literacy performance (via individual growth and development indicators), and classroom instructional language. This process will result in a more equitable data-driven process to tailor instruction and honor children's diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Congratulations to the IGDILab! Keep up the good work.
