Biography

I coordinate the program for the Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) license in special education. I teach a variety of courses, generally focused around applied behavior analysis or behavior interventions in schools. I also teach and coordinate the final semester courses for student teachers that include the student teaching seminar, edTPA course, and master’s capstone paper course. I love getting to work with students in their final semester and help them get ready to take jobs in the field of education. I have been involved in the field of education for over 15 years, the vast majority of them as a special education teacher at a Federal Setting IV EBD program in Minneapolis. I keep my K-12 EBD license for the state of Minnesota nice and current. Starting as a paraprofessional in the Minneapolis school district, I have gotten to work in a variety of roles for public school including district administrative work on RTI/MTSS implementation. In my heart I will always think of myself first as a middle school teacher in North Minneapolis.
