Seifert receives Horace T. Morse Award for outstanding contributions to undergrad ed

Kathy Seifert, PhD, director of undergraduate studies in the Department of Educational Psychology and senior lecturer in special education—has been honored by the University of Minnesota Alumni Association with a 2022-2023 Horace T. Morse Award for Outstanding Contributions to Undergraduate Education.
The Horace T. Morse Award reflects the University’s strong and enduring commitment to outstanding undergraduate education at the University of Minnesota. As a recipient, Seifert will become a member of the Academy of Distinguished Teachers (ADT) and will carry the title “Distinguished University Teaching Professor” or “Distinguished University Teacher” throughout her career.
Department Chair Kristen McMaster shared why Dr. Seifert is so deserving of this recognition.
“Dr. Seifert creates real-world experiences and professional networks that support her students’ growth toward becoming effective special education professionals; creates pathways to a variety of post-baccalaureate educational and career opportunities; designs global experiences and meaningful research opportunities to enrich students’ learning; and advances equity and diversity in ways that, ultimately, enhances our programs and will have an impact on practice.”
Dr. Seifert received her award at an in-person award ceremony on April 11.
