School psych receives Honorable Mention for 2020 NSPW Outstanding Graduate Program
The Department of Educational Psychology’s school psychology program recently received an Honorable Mention for Outstanding Graduate Program for 2020 National School Psychology Week (NSPW) from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). The University of Minnesota’s program was one of only three in North America to be honorably mentioned.
The program was recognized for its ability to increase awareness about school psychology as a field as well as the University of Minnesota’s program. Led by the School Psychology Student Association (SPSA) and co-president Alexandria Muldrew, the program’s campaign included:
- Daily Instagram Live Q&A interviews with students, faculty, and alumni of the program which were promoted on its Instagram page and Twitter.
- A Buzzfeed quiz “What school psychology career path best fits your personality?” which was shared broadly among school psychologists on Twitter throughout the week.
- A number of other highly engaging, social activities outlined in this infographic.
Congratulations to the school psychology program—and especially Alexandria and the SPSA—for this well-deserved recognition!
