Professor Emeritus Romano honored by APA for COVID paper
John L. Romano, professor emeritus in the Department of Educational Psychology’s counseling and student personnel psychology (now counselor education) program, was honored at last year’s American Psychological Association (APA) Convention for the best paper published in 2020 in the Journal of Prevention and Health Promotion.
As of mid-January 2022, his paper, “Politics of Prevention: Reflections From the COVID-19 Pandemic,” had been downloaded more than 8,400 times.
Dr. Romano received a University of Minnesota Retirees Association (UMRA) Professional Development Grant for Retirees (PDGR) to help support his work on the paper.
