McComas, colleagues to present on community-informed ABA at APA
Jennifer McComas, PhD, professor in the Department of Educational Psychology’s special education program, and colleagues will present Community Informed ABA: Incorporating Autistic Perspectives to Maximize Benefits and Minimize Harms at the American Psychological Association (APA) conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Thursday, August 4 from 10 to 10:50 a.m., Central time.
McComas and other members of the panel will share their insights on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA is a common service for autistic children, yet concerns about ABA have been increasingly raised. Panelists will discuss these concerns and community-informed approaches to ethically addressing them.
College of Education and Human Development faculty, staff, and students attending the APA conference are encouraged to attend.
