Butterfuss awarded Jason Albrecht Outstanding Young Scientist Award
Reese Butterfuss, a PhD graduate student in the psychological foundations of education program in the Department of Educational Psychology, has been awarded the Jason Albrecht Outstanding Young Scientist Award (JAOYSA) for his dissertation on “Revising Misconceptions with Multiple Documents.”
According to the Society of Text and Discourse webpage, The JAOYSA honors the memory of Jason Albrecht, a promising young text and discourse researcher who passed away. The award recognizes an outstanding paper based on a doctoral dissertation.
Butterfuss was recognized during the opening ceremony of the Society of Text and Discourse’s annual meeting. He will also receive a financial award and certificate.
Since this post was drafted, Butterfuss successfully defended his dissertation and will be starting as a postdoc in fall 2020 at Arizona State University in the Science of Learning and Educational Technology Lab led by Danielle McNamara.
