Janet Graden receives School Psychology Distinguished Alumnus Award for 2024

Janet Lee Graden

Dr. Janet Graden, an alumnus from the Department of Educational Psychology's school psychology program, is the 2024 recipient of the School Psychology Distinguished Alumnus Award. This award honors alumni who have made exemplary contributions to the field. Dr. Graden received her doctorate from the department's school psychology program in 1984 and has been a pioneer in her field. She has conducted research, taught graduate courses, and consulted with school districts nationwide. Her book, Alternative Educational Delivery Systems: Enhancing Instructional Option for All Students, co-edited with Joe Zins and Mike Curtis, laid the foundation for the Response to Intervention (RTI) and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework in schools today. Similarly, her Best Practices chapters on collaborative problem-solving, co-authored with Sarah Allen, were seminal in the field of school psychology.
