Amanda Sullivan awarded the 2024 Sara Evans Leader Award
Dr. Amanda Sullivan, Emma Birkmaier Education Leadership Professor and coordinator in the Department of Educational Psychology's school psychology program, has been selected as the winner of the 2024 Sara Evans Faculty Woman Leader Award. This accolade, sponsored by the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost and the Women's Center, comes with a $5,000 grant to advance Dr. Sullivan's research.
Dr. Sullivan, who has been director of the school psychology program for ten years, has contributed to addressing educational and health disparities among children, particularly at the intersection of race and gender. Her work extends beyond research to influential work with task forces, position statement writing teams, and editorial-related roles in the fields of school psychology and special education. She has also mentored women of color, guiding them through their professional and academic journeys.
The award recognizes new women professors at the University of Minnesota who have made significant national and international accomplishments and demonstrated leadership within their campus. Learn more about the award here.
