PhD student, Laura Chubb, awarded Interdisciplinary Doctoral Fellowship

Laura Chubb

Laura Chubb, PhD student in the Department of Educational Psychology's special education program, has been awarded the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Fellowship (IDF) for the 2025-2026 academic year. The IDF is presented to only 28% of nominees who present outstanding work as PhD students. These students have the opportunity to propose a research project and study with faculty at a UMN interdisciplinary research center or institute. Along with this, the fellowship award includes a $25,000 stipend, general graduate rate tuition, and optional Graduate Assistant Health health insurance for the academic year.

For her fellowship, Chubb will be hosted by the Non-invasive Neuromodulation Lab (NNL) to conduct research for her project, "From bench to bedside: bio-behavioural approaches to the understanding and treatment of self-injurious behavior for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities." She will be mentored by Drs. Christine Conelea and Mo Chen and supervised by the Department of Educational Psychology's Drs. Frank Symons and Jason Wolff.

Congratulations, Laura!
