Dr. Lynn S. Fuchs passed away on May 7, 2025 at her son's home with her family. Fuchs graduated from the University of Minnesota with a PhD in educational psychology in 1981. She held faculty appointments at Wheelock College, Worcester, MA, and Peabody College, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN and went on to continue her career at the American Institutes for Research, Washington, DC. 

She was well-known for her thorough and prestigious work in instructional design, assessment, and intervention for students with learning disabilities and received many awards during her life. Her scholarship shaped the way educators understand and support students with diverse learning needs, and her work in special education remains foundational in schools and universities nationwide.
