Biography

 

Leah Dolezal was born Deaf and grew up mainstreamed. She learned American Sign Language and English at the same time.  She received her BA in teaching communications and literature from University of Minnesota - Duluth and a master's in classroom instruction from Concordia University - St. Paul.

Prior to the University of Minnesota, Leah taught at St. Catherine University and Minnetonka High School where she worked on curriculum development, integrating technology into the classroom, and inspiring students to use their talents towards improving the world around them.

In Leah's free time, she can be found painting, drawing, playing recreational volleyball, and attending sporting events with her husband. She also volunteers for members of the DeafBlind community.
